I’m officially in planning mode for my next laptop. There’s no question which laptop I’ll get — my last four or five (five or six?) have been MacBook Pros and there’s zero chance I’ll change. Timing is the thing. I’m not ready to buy the M5 model that was just announced. I’ll at least wait for the M5 Pro or M5 Max models, which seem likely for next Spring.

But then there’s the M6 models, which might be slated for next Fall. And it sounds like those will bring major changes to my beloved MacBook Pro - touch screens!

As it stands, though, I have no interest in a touch screen on my laptop. That may change, but I’m just not seeing it right now. So I think I’ll plan on buying one of the new M5 Pro or Max models once they’re announced. That should give me a few years of comfort with the machine (and functionality) I know and love.
