I voted today. I always hate walking through the line of people outside the doors trying to convince me to vote a certain way. I always thought that was illegal, but apparently not. I don’t like being rude but I think it’s the best way to deal with it — I just put my head down and walk right past them. I’ll give a “fine thanks” or other similar greeting if prompted, but I don’t shake hands, take flyers, or even make eye contact.

Our ballot only had local issues and offices this year - an emergency school levy, garbage services, mayor, etc. We debated our position on the school level over the last few days. I decided to vote for it literally as I read the language of the levy. Public schools are having the rug pulled out from under them. Sure they could be run better, and certainly that’s true for our local district, but they’re mission critical in my book, especially now.
