Goodbye Tree
Feds accuse Ohtani ex-interpreter of $16M theft (espn.com)
The amount was pegged at about $4M when the story broke a couple weeks ago as the Dodgers opened the season in Korea. Now federal investigators allege the theft totaled more than $16M. That's an insane amount of money, which makes it more shocking if Ohtani truly was ignorant of the entire thing.

We had to cut down a tree in the backyard after it lost its hold in the ground. It started leaning over the fence a few weeks ago and it just wasn't practical (and maybe not even possible) to save it. We labored over the decision a bit, but finally asked the arborist to cut it down the other day. They told me it would be a few weeks before they could get to it. I was surprised to see it gone when I came home from work today, and a bit shocked. I feel like I didn't have a chance to give it a proper goodbye. Sad to see a tree go.
