Renee and I are on the road early this morning, doing The Drive to St. Pete. It's different these days with just the two of us and the dog in the car, but I still enjoy it. She's not a huge fan, but I actually loook forward to it. A little windshield time has always been a good thing for me.

Jellico Detour

Always nice to see first light arrive in the driver's side window. I took this at about 7:50 AM somewhere in northern Kentucky.

Road Trip Selfie.
Our nav directed us off of I-75 to avoid some traffic. Sometimes we trust the computer on the necessity of these detours, sometimes we don't. We did this time, and drove along a winding two road highway for probably 5-10 miles through the last hills of southern Kentucky and into Jellico, Tennessee.
We've buzzed by Jellico dozens of times, of course, but have never stopped. It was nice to see. Looks like it might have been a bustling town back in the day, before the interstate came through, I'm guessing.
