Monday

I’m toying with the idea of diving back into the mysterious and tantalizing world of EMacs. I’ve long wanted to use it as my main writing tool, but have allowed the learning curve to drown me more than once in the past. A recent post on The Art of Not Asking Why is my current source of inspiration — I mean, who doesn’t want to use a text editor that is comparable to a customized Porsche that can be driven on either side of the road?

But, that post also has me thinking about the throwover yoke of old Beechcraft Bonanzas. They let a pilot in either side of the cockpit fly the plane. They certainly look cool and are somewhat of an engineering feat, but you don’t see them in modern aircraft and there must be a reason (or ten) for that.
