Unintended Mud Hen Consequences

Gizmodo on AI cheating leading to a resurgence of the ultimate analog test-taking tool - the blue book:

…could it be that blue books have been refashioned from a villain of the pre-AI age to a hero for our algorithmically-poisoned times? More and more, it seems like they’re the dark knight that America’s illiterate masses needs. The Journal notes that Roaring Spring Paper Products, the family-owned paper company that produces a majority of the blue books that are sold on college campuses, admits that the new AI era has ironically been good for its business.

The law of unintended consequences strikes again.

We had our annual Mud Hens outing at the firm today. We were a little worried it was going to rain–we were rained out last year, so another cancellation this year would be a bummer. The rain held off, though, and we had a really great event. A good game, too–Mud Hens trailed after the first but eventually took the lead and won the game. Great day!

Jake came to the game with Renee and me. He had a lot of fun, talked to a lot of my partners and colleagues. I'm so proud of him!
