The Stones certainly did not disappoint. They played a full 2+ hour set, marching through a set list that's nearly impossible to complain about (no Can't you hear me knockin') and at a pace that would have exhausted bands thirty years younger. A great show all around. I'll reflect on it in coming days.

So there's a statute of Oliver Hazard Perry in a park across the way from Cleveland Browns Stadium. It reminded me, of course, of the statue of Perry at home, so I did a little research. Turns out, the Perrysburg Perry statue is a bronze casting of an original Cleveland Perry statue. This one, near the stadium in Cleveland, is itself a bronze casting of the original.
Ours is a hand-me-down!

Renee and I are in Cleveland for the weekend. We're going to The Rolling Stones concert tomorrow night, and figured we'd make a whole weekend of it. We had a great dinner at a local steakhouse tonight, enjoying a couple things off the special Stones-themed menu (Renee got the Start Me Up drink and I had the Groupie Grouper entree; both were great).
I'm sure it's all officially licensed.

Huge road win for the Guardians as October looms.

Boy the Guardians are playing great baseball. They all but knocked the Twins out of the division race in the last series, taking four out of five. Tonight they kicked off a road series against the White Sox that stands to be the definitive set as the American League Central race winds down.
It took extra innings tonight, but the Guardians settled it in the 11th with an emphatic five run effort, ultimately winning 10-7.
It feels appropriate to say it while they're playing in the south side of Chicago — the kids can play.
Go Guardians!

They're in! The Browns made the playoffs today, edging the Steelers in a game in which the rosters of both teams were impacted by COVID19. This marks the first time the Browns have made the playoffs since 2002 - eighteen years ago! And the best part - the wildcard game next week is a rematch of today's battle. Should do wonders for the rivalry!
