I mean look at that interior. And those lines...that dip behind the door reminds me of the lines on the Spitfire. Perhaps Triumph was inspired by the lines of the Bel Air. I've never noticed that on the 1957 Chevy before.

If there's a car show, Jake and Denny will find it. Tonight we had dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube in St. Petersburg...solely because the restaurant hosts Larry's Car Show every Thursday evening. I was a little worried the turnout would be low in light of the heat, but they had plenty of great cars and a decent amount of lookers, too. Great show!

After flying in the morning, Jake took the Spitfire to the car show for the first time. Met some great people and had a blast.

And, to finish the day, we put the new plates on her—70 SPIT. She's as old as I am, and doing quite well.

Jake's a tall guy…so I'm not sure a classic British car is a good physical fit for him. But, with top up, he claims he had plenty of leg and head room.

The morning commute brought some excitement today: "very low" tire pressure...and a train. I was actually trying to add air to one of my tires this morning, only to find a hole in the hose and learn that I was actually removing air! So I headed out to find a gas station with an air machine...only to be met by this train. Happy Monday morning!

One of my tires has developed a slow leak over the last few months. It will hold a fill for a few weeks, but eventually starts losing pressure, slowly. I finally had a bit of time to take it in for a look today...on the jack she goes!

There's a rattle in the steering column of my Model 3. It's probably two-and-a-half years old, so it seems like it's about the right time for the typical, minor annoyances to develop. It was sporadic when I first noticed it, but now it's constant - a steady hum when driving at a constant speed, and an increasingly louder grinding as regenerative braking kicks in. I'm fairly sure the housing is loose and a quick tightening (or carefully placed wad of paper towel) will fix it. Weekend project!

It's amazing. We buy cars based on performance and bells and whistles. And, over time, we're usually happy with all those things. Eventually, though, frustration with the entire car grows because of cheap plastic parts that have nothing to do with performance, bells, or whistles.

Well, a few weeks into my Tesla experience and I'm getting an overhaul. Service noticed an issue with the computer in my car - nav wasn't always working properly. Eventually they said a computer swap was the best fix. So, they sent someone to the house and he did the job in our garage! Easy peasy.
