Our tour guide was a spry 76 year-old who hated the Yankees as much as he loved the Red Sox. He had two World Series rings on and was proud to tell us — “I’ve been a full time employee for years…when they win, I win.”

I'd wear them to work, too.

Joanthan had class until the afternoon, so Renee and I had some time to kill upon arriving in Boston. We decided to head over the Fenway Park and take the tour. We've been to several games there, but have never taken the official tour. Not surprisingly, we had a full group (probably 50-70 people) and the tour was fantastic.

This street — Electric Avenue — is right around the corner from Jonathan's new apartment. As in "We're gonna rock on down to Electric Avenue...and then we'll take it higher."

Needless to say, Jonathan was not nearly as excited about it as I was.

Today is phase three (of four for them, three for us) of the moving adventure — moving everything into the new apartment. Moving in Boston is always an adventure. I was prepared for a bit of a battle over the parking spot, but luckily people honored the hood over the meter. We had to ask a guy to move his U-haul back a bit (into his hooded spot), but he was glad to do so and we really had no issues.

After driving for about 14 hours, I arrived at the cell phone lot at Logan International about seven minutes before Renee and Jake landed. We couldn't have timed that better if we tried!

Heading home after a great visit with Jonathan. We had some incredibly beautiful weather over the weekend and a wonderful time with Jonathan. Renee, Jake, and I stayed in our favorite Airbnb in Cambridge.

We headed into Boston after lunch for the Bruins game. The trip was interesting—we learned at the last minute that the red line was down for the weekend. They had a free bus shuttle running to take people to one of the main stops in Boston, which was great, but the traffic and number of people made it a bit of an adventure. We left quite early, but arrived right as the game was getting underway.

Bruins won 3-1.

The history on display in Boston is incredible. There's so much of it to go around that some of it, while probably noteworthy and interesting on some level, has yet to warrant attention beyond a simple marker with a date and an unremarkable description of an otherwise forgotten event. Take this ordinary house that sits a few blocks down the street from our Airbnb, for example. Apparently it sits on the site of a fort built "by order of General Washington" in 1775. That seems like a historically significant event and location to me. But the marker in the photo is truly the extent of it today. Weirdly, its incorporation into the white picket fence around the front yard doesn't feel strange at all. It feels natural, fits in. It's so...Boston.
