The first morning at the beach means we have no groceries, so no breakfast and no coffee. We stopped at a local coffee shop that recently reopened after an extended closure due to hurricane damage last year. We intentionally wanted to go there to support them as the shop comes back to life, but when we arrived, the place was packed, with a line for ordering that extended all the way to the door! Nice!

We didn't want to wait, so we'll go back later this week. Starbucks will have to do for today.

Today is a great day! The milk system on our Jura Z10 automatic coffeemaker, which we've owned for about two months, suddenly stopped working last week when I was in Florida (Renee was at home). Renee worried that she had done something wrong. I called Jura and they said a part might be defective, so they sent an entire new milk system to us.

I installed it, crossed my fingers, and made a latte.

Boom! Works perfectly. Lattes are back on the menu!

This was a great way to start Friday, and to start the month of October. Ship traffic seems to have been relatively light this year, so I try to appreciate it every time one rolls through. Seeing the Federal Mosel leave port while drinking my coffee was truly enjoyable.
